After a canvasser came to the door offering homes improvements - as we were going through a complete house renovation at the time- I agreed to let them come out and quote the job, they initially offered windows but as we had already got these booked in we agreed to take a quote on the guttering. The guy that arrived seemed okay to begin with - he picked up very quickly that the house was a building site so said he wouldn't be long - an hour n a half later he was still giving it the "you will only get this price if you pay now if I leave you won't ever get this price. " Again he offered windows but we had already had them booked in by another company due to fit in a few weeks, so he asked how much we'd paid and not in a polite manner; then proceeded to slate the windows we had on order - along the lines of "if they're not from us then they will be rubbish and you're paying too much for them" (we actually got an exceptionally good price and are over the moon with them now they have been fitted - done by a company called august if you're wondering) at this stage we had had enough and asked the guy to leave as it was becoming evident he was not going to leave unless we signed the dotted line as he started to say things like "why did you ask me to come all the way from ... today if you're not going buy it" with all the work going on we needed time to think, prioritise jobs based on the money available to us and to crack on with the never ending list of jobs that a house renovation brings. When asked to leave the guy refused several times, when we got frustrated that he still wouldn't leave, the guy called the office (still in our house) and told them we were being rude to him so he had to go. After this incident I received calls from amber asking if I'd like to go with them, I have politely pushed back and explained my reasoning, as noted above. This was two months ago now and I am still receiving calls from them so have chosen to block their number. Any company that hounds people for business after an incident like that obviously isn't getting much work. I rarely leave reviews and I wouldn't have followed up on this incident as they aren't worth the time, but I feel people should be aware of what the company behaves like.
